Hi, my name is Pedro Dias, I’m Portuguese, originally from the Algarve region (South of Portugal). I have an MA in Graphic Design by IADE – Escola Superior de Design in Lisbon since 2000. There I’ve also completed a Post-Grad in Communication and Image and a specialization in Web Design.
I started my career as a Designer in 1998 in Lisbon, where I worked as a Creative Designer in several Advertising and Design agencies. During that period I had the chance of creating all types of Ads, logos and creative work for major National brands.
But I always had a nerdy side and my interest for computers, gadgets and geek experiments comes since I was 7 or 8 years old… Something that is mirrored in my professional career path:
- In 2006 I decided to radically change my career path and accepted a position at Google in their European Headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. I entered the Search Quality team in March 2006 where for 5 years (almost 6) I was a Webspam Analyst with special focus on the Portuguese language market. Around 2007 I started also the external communications with webmasters in Portuguese initially launched in a Google Group which later transitioned to the Portuguese Help Forum.
- In September 2011 I made the tough decision to leave Google and pursue a new challenge and a dream: Open my own company.
